Meeting up to record my video
On Saturday, December 4th, I met with my friend to film my video. I wanted to film the entire video in one day since all the scenes took place in areas close to each other. We went to my brother's house and I began to set up. I made sure I had all the props and the lighting was set up. I also had to show them my storyboard and explain to them the idea for my video. I showed them what they had to do for each scene and they understood. I had my friend dress up in clothes to make it look like she had been out all night. My brother wore nighttime clothes since the setting of the video would be placed at night while he is sleeping. Since I was going to do the filming and was not going to be in the actual video I wore regular clothes. I set up all the props I needed and I began to film. The first scene was simple to film since it was an establishing shot of her walking through the front door after she came home from a long night out. I filmed all of the scenes with her downstairs first. Including her at the front door and walking up the stairs. The third scene of her walking up the stairs was difficult for me because I had to walk up the stairs backward while holding the camera steady. Then I moved upstairs and recorded the scenes that took place of him in the bedroom. Since it was dark I had to make sure the light was bright enough where you can see but dark enough so the audience understands the setting is at night. Once those scenes were recorded I moved on to the scenes with them both in the frame. These were very interesting to film since it was a pan shot and I had to move with them as they moved around throughout the scene. We had to refilm a few scenes to get the acting and camera angle right. Once all of the scenes were recorded I went through all the footage to decide what take of each scene we were going to use. Overall the filming process took about 2 hours and I am very happy I was able to finish in one day.
